This five- day trip takes you to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Lake Bunyonyi. Mountain Gorilla trekking is the highlight in this trip. The magical volcanic hills offer impressive scenery and sightseeing adventure, the recreation encounter on Lake Bunyonyi also known as lake of a thousand islands due to its 29 beautiful islands presents a moment of rejuvenation day long after a gorilla trekking adventure.

Itineraries

Day 1

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast your safari guide will meet you and depart by road to Queen Elizabeth National Park. We will stop at the equator for pictures and then continue to Mbarara town for lunch. Queen Elizabeth National park Covers 1,978 sq km and lies North and South of the equator in South Western Uganda.
The park has a wide range of vegetation, from open savannah and rainforest to dense papyrus swamps, brooding crater lakes to the vast Lake George.

Day 2

Chimpanzee Trekking- Afternoon Boat Trip

Wake-up early morning for breakfast then head to Kalinzu Forest Reserve for an up to four- hour chimpanzee trek with a tracker and guide. The reserve is home to 6 groups of chimps.
In the afternoon, go for a boat trip. This allows you to experience wildlife up close where hippos huff and spray mere feet away, buffalo linger in the shallows and a tremendous variety of birds grace the grasses on the river edge. You will even spot elephants on the river banks coming for a drink and bath. We return to the lodge for dinner. Spend the early evening at the lodge enjoy the pool which is overlooking the kazinga Channel and observe animals from the pool deck.

Day 3

Morning Game Drive-Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

This morning starts with early morning game drive to the Kisenyi area to look for lion prides and other wildlife. Uganda kobs mate around this area which gives you a chance to see their breeding behavior. Many animals will cross your path. Return to the lodge for breakfast and we exit the park at around 10:00am and depart by road to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park situated in the South Western Uganda. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest comprises 331 sq km of jungle containing both montane and lowland forest only accessible on foot. It has 120 species of mammals, the most famous being the mountain gorilla. There are hiking trails where you can see a variety of birds and primates.

Day 4

Gorilla Trekking- Lake Bunyonyi

You will have an early morning breakfast then transfer to the park headquarters to join other trackers in a briefing about the gorilla trekking rules at 7:45am. You will trek through thick creepers and undergrowth with your guides to find the gorillas, which can take you between 1-4 hours. The steepy forested landscape is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access by tourists. You will have one hour to stay with the gorillas once they are sighted. Afterwards transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, driving through a beautiful part of the country often referred to as “Switzerland of Africa” because of its unique cool weather despite being near the equator. In the evening go for optional boat ride on the lake to discover the scattered islands. Later return to the lodge and rest.

Day 5

Transfer to Entebbe/Kampala

Have a relax breakfast at the lodge terrace while viewing the beautiful islands of the lake and nice breath from the lake and hills as you preparing for return journey to Kampala. Expect a stopover at Mbarara town for lunch and a cup of homemade organic coffee and at the Uganda Equator for memorable photos and souvenir shopping. Proceed with the journey to Kampala arriving late afternoon or evening to be dropped at your point of drop off like hotel, home or airport.
