This trip will take you to the best of Uganda’s most beautiful national parks of Murchison Falls National park, Kibale National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Lake Mburo National Park. This tour will give you the most enjoyable and memorable days of exploring the wilderness of the pearl of Africa. This trip will avail you the opportunity to see a variety of animal species of the savanna in Queen Elizabeth and Murchison Falls, trek chimpanzees in Kibale National park and mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, see the Rhinos in Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Itineraries
Day 1
Arrival
Upon arrival, you will be met by our company safari guide who will transfer you to your accommodation in Entebbe. The guide will brief you about the highlights of your trip. You can have an optional visit to Entebbe Botanical Gardens. In this garden you can spot a variety of bird species and a few primates like the black and white columbus monkey
Day 2
Entebbe-Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast you will start your tour. Drive to Lake Mburo National Park. Stop over at the equator line for beautiful photos and stretch. Proceed to Lake Mburo National Park. As we enter the park, its likely that you will spot some wildlife. After check in and lunch, go for a boat trip on the lake and enjoy the rich bird life and hippos cooling off. Have early dinner before going for a night game drive. This is special game drive of 2-3 hours provides 30% chances of seeing the elusive leopard and of course other nocturnal animals.
Day 3:
Lake Mburo National Park- Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Early start of the day as you go for a nature walk by a ranger. L. Mburo is the only national park where you can experience a safari on foot. Return to the lodge for breakfast with a game drive on your way out, look out for zebras, buffalo, waterbucks as we depart the protected area.
We drive through the volcanic landscape with steep slopes to the home of the mountain gorillas. Check in and have a relaxed evening as you prepare for gorilla trekking the following day.
Day 4
Gorilla Trekking
One of the highlights of your safari is meeting with the gentle giants of Bwindi especially the hikers will love trekking in the ecosystem of the park. Take with you lunch boxes and all the necessary gears to trek the mountain gorillas. The park ranger will interpret the flora and fauna and the lifestyle of the gorillas. Once you find the gorillas you will spend one hour with them before heading back to the lodge for relaxation.
Day 5:
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park-Ishasha Sector
After breakfast, drive to Ishasha Sector of the Southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park and have a game drive on your way in search for the tree climbing lions lounging on the tree branches while keeping an eye on the Uganda Kob their favorite prey. Have a relaxed evening at the edge of the Ishasha River while watching hundreds of hippos just a few meters from the camp with pre-dinner drinks and snacks.
Day 6
Ishasha Sector- Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast drive along the park as you enjoy game drive on your way to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Check in your accommodation. After lunch, you will have a boat trip on the Kazinga Channel to see water animals including elephants, crocodiles cooling off on the channel banks. There is also a variety of bird species especially the famous shoe bill. Queen Elizabeth boosts one of the highest biodiversity ratigs of any game park from the open savannah to rain forest, dense papyrus swamps and crater lakes to the vastness of Lake Edward.
Day 7
Full Day Game Drive
The day begins early with a game drive, head to the mating ground of the Uganda Kob. We search for lions, elephants, hyenas, buffaloes. In the evening go for an optional game drive through the channel truck with chances of seeing thousands of elephants, giant hogs and plenty of birds to Kisenyi plains with a variety of active wildlife during the sunset.
Day 8
Queen Elizabeth National Park to Kibale National Park
After breakfast drive to Kibale Forest, have a stretch at the equator line, enroute to Fort Portal town situated at the foothills of the mountains of the moon. Have traditional lunch and proceed to the forest, famous for chimpanzee trekking. It’s not only a habitat of chimpanzees but also other primate that you will encounter during the trek. Check in your accommodation for a relaxed evening, dinner and overnight.
Day 9
Chimpanzee Trekking and Bigodi Wetland Tour
After breakfast, head to the forest park offices. The activity begins at 8:00am with briefing for the rule of trekking the chimpanzees after which to will set off to trek the chimpanzees. Kibale is known for having the greatest concertration of primates in East Africa. Enjoy a guided nature walk in the tropical forest in search for the chimpanzees. Post lunch you will go to the Bigodi Wetland sanctuary walk, an initiative of the local community. The swamp is known for the rich diversity of birds like great blue turaco, primates mostly monkeys and butterflies.
Day 10
Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
Have breakfast, the safari will continue with transfer to Murchison Falls National Park. Enter the park through Bugugu gate. You are likely to spot warthogs, giraffes and other wildlife on your way to your accommodation.
Day 11
Game Drive and Boat Trip
Have early morning coffee at 6:00am, set off for a morning game drive on the Northern delta with sightings of cape buffaloes, Jackson’s hartebeest, Rothschild’s giraffes, oribi, bushbuck, bohor reedbuck, warthog and large carnivores including lions, leopard and spotted hyenas.
You will return to the lodge for breakfast and relaxation before setting off for the afternoon boat trip on the Victoria Nile to the bottom of the Murchison falls where the park derives its name. You will be able to sight hippos, crocodiles cooling off on the shores and a variety of bird species. Continue with a hike to the top of the falls (if you like) for viewing of the other side of the falls where the Nile squeezes through a 7 meters’ gorge to the falls 45 meters, a very impressive view of the foaming waters rushing into the gorge with a deafening sound. Get back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 12
Murchison Falls National Park- Entebbe/Kampala
Have a delicious breakfast, calmly drive back to Kampala en-route we will make a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary home of the Rhinos in Uganda for a guided Rhino walking safari and observe them in their natural habitat at a close and safe distance. Enriched with the experience of a lifetime, you will say goodbye to the pearl of Africa. Depending on the time of your departure you will be transferred to Entebbe airport for your flight back home. We look forward to seeing you again.
